Midnight in Paris
I want to go back again
I can't stop thinking about you
we were so beautiful together then
back when our love was brand new.
Do you remember the pouring rain?
do you remember our perfect kiss?
do you remember the reason you cried?
do you remember the last train we missed?
I so loved being with you
more than anything else ever
remember us buying that cheap umbrella?
remember we didn't mind the bad weather?
So I'm back here in Paris again
trying hard to figure out what to do
missing so much my beautiful friend
having lost all communication with you.
Sitting here at the cafe tonight
that special one we both knew so well
ordering another drink & trying to stay warm
listening to a far off cathedral bell
The clock suddenly strikes midnight
as I make one last desperate wish
please let me see her one more time
one last loving embrace
one last perfect kiss.

Her Eyes

Her eyes could never lie
though her mouth sometimes would
my heart never wanted to leave her
though my mind said maybe I should.
But now the world is changing fast
everyday brings something new
and none of the news is good
and I'm really worried about me and you.
Let's find a sanctuary in each other
and make every single day we have count
let's find a joy in just being together
with a prosperous future now in doubt.
So, I'm holding you really close tonight
listening quietly to the midnight rain
I've found my peace in just being here with you
in a dark world that's gone insane.

The Gift
She'd drove all night
was gonna sleep outside
in the cold with the snow
just to give me gift
this girl doesn't quit
because I still matter to her
and there's one thing that's sure
her heart never changed
through all the years
her love remained the same
and never let me down
she'd always come back around
at times like this
with a gift and a hug and a kiss
so I know that her love is real
because the way that I feel
when she's here with me again
and me leaving her back then was a sin
It was about ten years ago
that winter it really snowed
but it was my heart that was so cold
to have left a girl like this
she proves to me love does exist
so I want to thank her so much
for always being the best part of
all of the memories that endure
because she always made sure
I had a second chance with her
because she loved me first
with a love that was pure
so please now come inside
and thanks again for the gift
and your love
and your sweet kiss.

Lost In The Rain
Lost in the rain
still out looking for you
the feeling is so wet and cold
but it's all that I can do.
Still trying to keep hope alive
by searching and trying to find
I don't want to ever say goodbye
or put you out of my mind.
We were so beautiful long ago
back when things were really good
we need to honor all those memories
and I know we always should.
Because what we had was really special
back before you disappeared
now I'm standing here in the pouring rain
experiencing what I'd always feared.
Back at home now around midnight
trying to get the chill out of my bones
it's just so quiet here these days
with the awful feeling of being left alone.
Maybe it's all just a very bad dream
and someday I'll wake up with no more pain
and I'll see you standing again in front of me
no longer lost in the rain.

Left Behind
Thinking about our last night together
it was so hard to say goodbye,
I'll remember your sad eyes forever
and all of the love we left behind.

I'm Listening

I am listening very carefully
I will always listen to you
I know you're recovering from so much pain
and all that you've been through.
As we sit and talk really late tonight
I know one thing to be true
I will always be here
with the kind of love no one can undo.
You say you may never love another
that your heart was betrayed by circumstance
that the trust in you is completely broken
you want to love again but probably you can't.
Another glass of wine just past midnight
as I slowly put my arms around you
In those dark brown eyes, I finally see hope
and I know what I must do.
I will wait for you as long as it takes
even if that date never comes around
you're worth the chance and worth the wait
as I hold you so close without a sound.

Message To You

I got to get a message to you
but it's much more difficult now
even with everything we've been through
I have to let you know somehow.
Never wait until it's too late
never wait until your love is gone
never wait and tempt fate
because you never know just how long.
Our lives are short it's true
if you love her, you must let her know
maybe she knows maybe not even a clue
but always let your true feelings show.
It'll certainly take a miracle now
for her to find out just how I feel
the world was moving so fast back then
If only one of those days back I could steal.
Do miracles even exist anymore
is it possible she will find this note I wrote
as I cast it into the water from the shore
I say a prayer and away I watch it float.

Far Apart

I so wished I was quarantined with you
I can't believe we're separated like this
I miss everything about being with you
desperately wanting to hold you and kiss.
I promise to write to you everyday
while remembering all the beautiful times
I can't fly to you even if I wanted to
what's happening to us is such a crime.
I know someday all of this will be over
but right now, it's such a difficult time
perhaps it'll make us stronger somehow
and a deeper love together we'll find.
I hope you write me back very soon
I appreciate so much more nowadays
the freedom we had to be together
before things changed in so many ways.
So, remember my love all that we had
remember as well, all we are going to be
we will soon be together and never forget
how being apart helped make our love complete.

Relax

Don't forget to make time for yourself
make sure you find the time to unwind
maybe a day at the beach and a sunset
maybe a tall glass of red wine.
This crazy world gets worse all the time
don't forget to take really good care of you
plan your life with peaceful, restful days
It's really important that you do.

Destiny

All of those deep looks into your eyes
All my favorite moments are with you
All of those beautiful things we did
And all of those crazy times too.
So enchanted by your pretty face
Listening to the sound of your sweet voice
I couldn't help but fall in love with you
I really didn't have a choice.
No matter what happens to us
I'm just so thankful for our time
I want you to know you have my trust
And you certainly have this heart of mine.
I hope someday our paths will cross again
As fate has dealt us such a crushing blow
In this complicated and troubled world
You just don't know where destiny will flow.
Remembering our last day together
Just walking to our favorite place to eat
We both knew there's something special about us
And in our love I will always believe.

Our Last night
Our last night together
I can't believe it's already time
the week went so fast my love
as the evening sunset shines.
Saying goodbye breaks my heart
long distance relationships are often pain
we both wish things were different
as it softly begins to rain.
The beautiful sunset is such a blessing
as I hold you so close to me
I wouldn't trade a single minute spent with you
for anything else I could ever receive.

Reunited

Reunited here on the beach
waiting for the distant sun to set
he carefully puts his arm around her
and they never will forget.
As the sun slowly begins to fall
and the day becomes the night
they'll remember this moment forever
together again in the disappearing light.

Texting You

Texting you, out of the blue
from this lonely city by the bay,
I'm just here thinking about
how we've drifted apart and far away.
I know we've stopped communicating
or reaching out to each other lately,
but nevertheless, I must confess,
I've really been missing you greatly.
Are you happy over there,
have you been lately doing okay?
do you have enough meaningful joy
and love in your life these days?
I'm texting you now from our favorite place,
that little hole in the wall restaurant by the bay,
the one with the special wine you liked,
the one where I fell in love with you that fateful night.
I know you and I never meant to get involved,
I know it's complicated with many things unresolved,
but I want you to know it's not just your charm that I miss,
you touched me deeply that night of our one and only kiss.

Can't Wait

I'm so glad you're on your way
and yes I know you're really excited too
there's so much that I have to say
text me soon, I'll be there to meet you.

Kiara

I knew she was bad
I knew it was all a very bad idea
but I didn't stop myself
because of the way she made me feel.
Her eyes were so mesmerizing
the sound of her voice gave me a chill
the smell of her dark hair intoxicating
time spent with her was such a thrill.
If I could do it all over again I wouldn't
the price was way too high to pay
she caused so much pain and misery
what else or more can I say.

For Old Times Sake

Let's go for a really long drive
just you and I off into the night
let's go all the way to the coast
listening to the old songs
the one's we loved the most.
We can talk about all the good times
like the summer we spent up at the lake
together in that cabin in the woods
and all the crazy love we used to make.
Let's relive the past when we get there
even if it's just for old times sake
and maybe this time we can get it right
and let our love finally change our fate.

Umbrella

We used to love to walk in the rain
we'd get a little wet but we didn't care
its not the same without you here
it's not the same and it's so unfair.
I wonder if it's maybe raining now
wherever it is, wherever you are
are you smiling and laughing like we did
or are you alone somewhere at some bar.
I still have the umbrella that you gave me
it's very important to me now
it's all I have left from when you were here
until you come back someday somehow.

Midnight Wine

Waiting here for you again
just like so many times
you were often late to arrive
to share a glass of midnight wine.
I wonder if you're coming
or maybe just not tonight
I know you're living not far away
so I wonder if you might.
The moon's setting just before midnight
in this far and distant land
where holding you again is possible
and fate isn't hard to understand.
So be here soon, I'm missing you
and we'll leave our past far behind
and share a toast to just you and I
and our love with some midnight wine.

The Rain

The rain was pouring really hard outside
and me holding you again so close tonight
I'm wondering why it can't always be like this
and like in a dream your forehead I kiss
Soon I'll be awake again and you'll be gone
this recurring dream of you doesn't last very long.

Bird

She was a very unique person
she had a special way about her
she made it easy to fall in love
and she made it easy to be sure.
A far away look in her eyes
sometimes she just needed to be alone
I worried about getting too close
but she was already living in my home.
She would sing to me on rainy days
and tell me stories I knew were far from true
she never promised me about tomorrow
and then one day away she just flew.

Closing Time

She asked me what I was doing later
I asked her what she had in mind
she said she wanted to fall in love tonight
but only if I had the time.
She was the prettiest thing I ever saw
and I'd go with her about anywhere
It was so hard to focus on work that night
It was so hard not to just look at her and stare.
At closing time she asked me for a ride
to where she lived along the coast
sometimes life works out just right
it was what I was hoping for the most.
We parked on a cliff overlooking the beach
talking for hours and watching the tide
as the sun came up I knew I'd fallen in love
with this enchanting woman by my side.

Forever

You and I will meet again,
one day in some far-off place,
don't worry about it at all,
I will recognize your face.

Jesus is the Way
You’ve been down so many roads,
How much farther will you go?
Are you searching for the truth?
Where’s your life been leading you?
Are you tired of alone?
Will you make it on your own?
Are you looking for peace of mind?
The answer isn’t hard to find.
Jesus is the way, Jesus is the way,
You can change your life today,
Jesus is the way.
Do you know he died for you?
He did what he had to do,
to wash away our sins,
You can now be born again.
Jesus is the way, Jesus is the way
All you have to do is pray, Jesus is the way.
Just pray Jesus come into my life,
I believe in you with all my might,
Please forgive me of my sins,
I want to now be born again,
In Jesus name I pray,
Because, Jesus is the Way.
Jesus is the way, Jesus is the way,
Please don’t wait another day,
Jesus is the way.
